Occupied Kashmir suffered Rs39 billion loss since Aug 5 military curfew

SRINAGAR, Occupied Kashmir: Occupied Kashmir has suffered a colossal loss of Rs39 billion since Aug 5 due to curfew and communications blackout imposed by Indian forces in the valley.

Curfew and communications blackout has been causing a loss of Rs1-2 billion daily to the valley, a Kashmir Media Service report quoting the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries chief said.

Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad further said that the tourism industry in the occupied valley was suffering the most as it was daily losing millions of rupees.

The industry annually contributes Rs1-2 billion to the Indian economy, said Ahmad.
