ISLAMABAD: National Tariff Commission (NTC) has processed 22 cases relating to tariff measures during last five years.

Of the total, 10 recommendations have been implemented by the federal government, however, status quo has been recommended in two cases.

Commerce Division sources on Sunday said in the remaining 10 cases, recommendations contained in NTC’s reports for year 2011-2014, were sent to Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for making part of Finance Bill in federal budget for year 2013-2014.

It is worthwhile to mention that National Tariff Commission is only a recommendatory body in tariff related issue under NTC Act and their recommendations are not binding.
