ISLAMABAD: Afghan Ambassador to Pakistan Hazrat Omar Zakhilwal Thursday said that there were no serious rifts between Kabul and Islamabad but it was only an environment of distrust which persists continuously.

Talking to media persons here he said that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) head Mullah Fazlullah was hiding in Afghanistan at a place which was not in control of Afghan government.

The Afghan Envoy said that most of Taliban insurgents in Afghanistan want peace and support the four-nation peace initiative however there were few problems which will be over taken soon.

He went on to say that he was confident of a major breakthrough in talks with Taliban in coming weeks.

Soon we will kick off direct talks with Afghan Taliban to sign a peace accord however any further information in this regard cannot be shared at this moment, he added.
