No-confidence motion against Sheheryar Afridi successful; Basit Bukhari elected new chairman of Kashmir committee

ISLAMABAD: The no-confidence motion against Kashmir Committee Chairman Sheheryar Afridi has been successful, while Basit Bukhari, a deviant PTI member, has been elected to the post.

According to sources, 16 members voted in favour of the no-confidence motion, after which Sheheryar Afridi was declared disqualified as chairman of the Kashmir Committee.

Apart from the deviant members of PTI, no member attended the meeting. The Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir has unanimously elected Basit Bukhari as its chairman.

It is to be noted that Shaheryar Afridi had not yet resigned from the post of Chairman Kashmir Committee. The no-confidence motion against him was filed by Nawab Sher Wasir, a deviant member of PTI.

Nawab Sher-o-Sir said that Shaheryar Afridi was not working as chairman Kashmir committee.
