Newly-elected councillor gunned down in Charsadda

A newly-elected councillor has been assassinated by unidentified gunmen on Tuesday night in Charsadda district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province.

Farmer councillor Ata-ul-Haq was murdered by firing resorted to by unidentified assailants in Kala Dher area of the district situated near Mardan road. Attackers managed to flee from the location.

Two persons were also wounded in the attack that also include a police official, local media reported.

Rescue team rushed on the location immediately and shifted the dead body and injured person to the Lady Reading Hospital.
