NEC approves development budget worth Rs1675 billion

First-ever in the history of Pakistan, the National Economic Council (NEC) approved development budget worth Rs1675 billion through video link conference of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif here on Monday.

PM Nawaz Sharif chaired session of the National Economic Council (NEC) via video link from London today. PM Nawaz Sharif said he is predicting bright future of Pakistan and expressed thanks to the Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and his team.

PM Nawaz Sharif said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will provide opportunities for Pakistan to get easy reach to other countries across region while the country is now witnessing significant hike in production sector.

He said Pakistan witnessed 4 per cent increase in GDP, however, PM approved Development Budget 2016-17 worth Rs1675 billion where Rs800 billion allocated for federal-administered development programmes, Rs875 billion for provincial-level development projects while growth target set up to 5.7 per cent.
