West Indies superstar spinner Sunil Narine has been reported for suspect bowling action for the first time in an international game.

The off-spinner was pulled up during the third One-Day International between Sri Lanka and West Indies on Saturday (November 7).

In the officials’ report submitted to the West Indian management, concerns regarding the legality of his deliveries were cited.

Narine returned figures of 0 for 24 in Kandy, one which Sri Lanka won by 19 runs by the Duckworth-Lewis method.

“Narines bowling action will now be scrutinised further under the ICC process relating to suspected illegal bowling actions reported in Tests, ODIs and T20Is. He is required to undergo testing within 14 days, and, during this period, Narine is permitted to continue bowling in international cricket until the results of the testing are known,” an ICC release on Monday (November 9) stated.
