Altaf Hussain blames law enforcers for Tariq Mehboob’s death

LONDON-KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chairman Altaf Hussain pointed para-military forces Rangers while levelling serious allegations that Tariq Mehboob’s death was occurred due to brutal torture of law enforcers but not the death by heart attack.

Altaf Hussain exhibited his traditional styled speech to mock tough opponent political rivals and law enforcement agencies including Rangers while addressing MQM activists via telephone during series of electoral campaign in NA-246 constituency of Karachi.

He termed PTI and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) as ‘the combination of Pitai (punishment)’ during his speech . The politician claimed that ‘record breaking’ MQM rally was representing each religion, sect and cast of the country while ‘PTI was actually branch of Taliban insurgents’ and nationals rejected ‘Taliban insurgency by accepting MQM’.

He added that MQM was a democratic and liberal progressive political party. He congratulated MQM candidate Kanwar Naveed Jameel in advance for his success in NA-246 constituency during by-election.

Later, Altaf made a major twist in his speech when invited JI, PTI to honour MQM to host them in Nine Zero on April 23, 2015 with ‘mithai (sweets). He appealed establishment to accept them as Pakistanis by rejecting all doubts over their loyalties. He then sought pardon from the establishment over their mistakes.

He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should make efforts to provide basic rights to nationals in South Punjab, Balochistan, Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). He also advised PM to ensure restoration of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and reformations in foreign policies.
