Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) central leader Abdul Aleem Khan challenged verdict on NA-122 in the Supreme Court (SC) over by-election result issued by the election tribunal.

Battle to grab the NA-122 seat has not ended yet as the plea submitted in the Supreme Court (SC) by dissident PTI leader on Wednesday made Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) and Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Saddiq as party in the case.

It was stated in the plea that NA-122 by-election was ‘rigged’ as thousands of voters were transferred outside the constituency and Ayaz’s election as Member of the National Assembly (MNA) did not mirror public mandate.

Aleem Khan pleaded the apex court to hold re-election in the constituency after annulling the previous election as former MNA was de-seated over rigging charges in general election.
