The JI leader said that unity among the entire nation is the need of the hour particularly ahead of the holy month of Muharram-ul-Harram. He said that MYC appeals the Ulema and Zakirs to express exemplary tolerance and harmony so as to foil the conspiracies of Islam’s enemies.

Talking about the proposed legislation against religious seminaries, he said that the seminaries are source of patriotism in the society and said that they would be proved as the front line of defense of the country.

He said that no conspiracy to limit or ban the seminaries would be tolerated. He said that on one hand the government seems fail to register mushroomed non-governmental organizations in the province, while on other it seemed in hurry to lock down seminaries, which is a matter of great regret.

The MYC leader further said that the government is mulling to compel the religious clerics and Imams to deliver the Friday sermon, provided by the rulers, which according to him was tantamount to interference in religious affairs.

The MYC session also gave a shut-up call to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) for its attempts to go against the Constitution in undue favour of Qadiyani and Ahmadies minorities. Bhutto added that the Constitution had declared both of the groups as religious minorities. He said that any such measures would encourage mischievous elements in the society.

They welcomed positive statements from both the Saudi Arabia and Iran.

In his concluding remarks, the MYC, Sindh President warned the Senate Functional Committee on human rights, not to dare amending the blasphemy laws.
