The funeral prayers of Mumtaz Qadri will take place after Zohar prayers in Rawalpindi today (Tuesday).
As per details, the funeral prayers of the Mumtaz Qadri will take place at Liaqat Bagh at 2 PM in Rawalpindi. He was hanged for shooting Taseer 28 times in broad daylight in Islamabad’s Kohsar Market on January 4, 2011.
He was sentenced to death for assassinating Taseer on Oct 1 the same year.
On Monday, Qadri’s supporters staged mostly peaceful rallies in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad and also blocked highways into Islamabad. Demonstrators had burned tyres and chanted slogans.
At least one million people are expected to attend funeral prayers of Qadri.
