MQM should explain the ‘resignation’ decision: Reham Khan

HARIPUR: Reham Khan, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan questioned the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) decision to resign from assemblies.

“Are they resigning because target killers are being killed in Karachi?”, asked Reham “Or it is because peace is returning to Karachi?”

Yesterday, another PTI leader Faisal Vawda also maintained that MQM cannot do politics without their “guns” they lost during Karachi operation.

 MQM lawmakers on Wednesday finally submitted their handwritten resignations in Sindh Assembly, National Assembly and Senate.

The resignations in Sindh Assembly were submitted by MQM’s Khwaja Izharul Hasan while the National Assembly resignations were presented in the leadership of party’s parliamentary leader in NA, Dr Farooq Sattar.

The senators belonging to the party also submitted their resignations leadership of senator Tahir Mashhadi.

National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq verified the resignations and accepted them after asking every MNA either his/her resignation is voluntary or under some pressure while Sindh Assembly speaker Agha Siraj Durrani is looking into the matter On Thursday (today).
