Jammu: The BJP-led Indian government is planning to create a new division by including three districts each from the recently-carved out union territories of Kashmir and Jammu.

The purpose of creating the new division is to further erode hegemony of Kashmir over Jammu region.
A media report quoting sources at the J&K administration claimed that the discussion regarding the new division is in final stage.
A formal announcement, in this connection, is likely to be made later this month (December).
