ISLAMABAD: The imports of mobile phone into the country rose by 10.39 percent in first seven months (July-January) of current fiscal year 2015 16 as compared to same period of last year.
The mobile phone imports during July January were recorded at US $433.276 million as against the imports of $392.493 million during the period July January (2014 15).
According to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), on month on month basis, the imports fell by 13.37 percent from $67.315 million in December 2015 to $58.213 million in January, 2016.
Likewise, on year on year basis, the mobile import posted a growth of 29.57 percent as it as recorded at $44.929 million in January 2015.
The overall telecom import during first seven months of current year fell by 5.50 percent from $846.713 million last year to $800.127 million during the period of current fiscal year.
On month on month basis the telecom import also decreased by 15.72 percent as it went down from $124.301 million in December 2015 to $104.761 million in January, 2016.
While on year on year basis, the telecom import rose from $95.589 million in January 2015 to $104.761 million in January 2016 this showing an increase of 9.6 percent.
