Mina tragedy: Former MNA among 316 missing Pakistanis

KARACHI: Director general of Haj Pakistan said at least 316 Pakistani pilgrims including Assad Murtaza Gilani, former Member National Assembly  and nephew of former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, are missing since the Mina tragedy which left 717 pilgrims martyred.

Talking to media he said Pakistani authorities have yet not been granted access to hospitals where the injured are being treat but they were collecting data from morgues and would make the details public shortly.

“Initially there was report of 402 missing Pakistanis; however, we managed to contact 86 Pakistanis. Our doctors are present in morgues to get further details,” said he.

Meanwhile family of Murtaza Gilani said they have lost contact with the former MP since the stamped occurred in Mia.
