Milli Yakjehti Council demands govt to raise Kashmir issue internationally

LAHORE: Milli Yakjehti Council has demanded to the government to raise Kashimir issue on international level as it has been over 18 weeks of curfew in the valley and locals are not allowed to even offer Friday prayers.

Addressing to the central Milli Yakjehti Council leadership meeting Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch said a news creaked or leaked against national security which was aimed to create panic among the institutions.

Whoever is behind this controversy should be bought before the people, he said.

Liaqat Baloch told that the meeting also reviewed the organizational aspects and it was decided that all parties who are part of the council will call their respective meetings of leaders.

In this regard, first the organizational elections will take place on November 23 in Punjab, on November 24 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and on November 30 in Sindh. However after 12 Rabiul Awal, similar elections dates will be announced for Jammu and Kashmir, Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan.

He further said that, public contacts will be accelerated and annual schedule will also be determined in which it will be decided to conduct Ittihad ummat conference, conferences on Independence day, Khatam e Nabuwat conference on September 7 and Rabiul Awal and Milad un Nabi conferences.

JI Secretary General said next month the council will conduct Shadat Hazrat Imam Hussain conference and Protection of Ideology of Pakistan and Islamic Values conference.

He further said to enable women wing of religious parties it was decided, that round table conferences will be held of female leaders.

Steps will also be made to active minorities wing of religious parties, he told.

Liaqat Baloch said the council will also pursue the petition filed by former JI Ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmed in the Supreme Court regarding Islamic Laws and civilization.
