Imran breaking deal with IMF, laying an atomic bomb for next govt: Miftah Ismail

ISLAMABAD: Former Finance Minister Miftah Ismail opposed fuel subsidy for small vehicles.

How will the people of motorcycle and vehicles smaller than 800 cc get Rs 100 per liter cheaper?
Talking to Geo News program today with Shahzeb Khanzada, Miftah Ismail said that motorcycle is 47% of the total vehicles, but the government has announced to give fuel subsidy to rickshaws, Suzuki, Kari and small vehicles as well. The IMF has to question the government on this, but the government has an answer.

The former finance minister said that the IMF is adamant that Pakistan arrange $6 billion through its friendly countries, until this happens, the relationship between Pakistan and the IMF is at a standstill.

He further said that instead of negotiating separately with friendly countries for loans to Pakistan, they should present their plan together, should discuss together with America, Arab countries, China and Paris Club countries.
