KARACHI: Due to the population census, authorities have decided to conduct matriculation examinations in Karachi in two phases.
All arrangements have been completed for the month-long census drive across the country beginning from Wednesday (March 15).
The national population census will commence with the house-listing operation. Teachers across the country will perform duties for the census along with army.
Due to the engagement of teachers, the authorities have decided to postpone matric exams in Karachi. The exams will later be conducted in two stages.
According to Dr. Saeed Uddin, the Chairman of Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK), the examination of Science Group was scheduled to be held from March 28, but it will now be held from April 15.
He said the exams of Arts Group will be held from March28 to April 14.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the decision was taken due to the shortage of teachers.—APP
