Low quality sacks responsible for yearly lost of Rs 35B flour

LAHORE:  As many as 35 billion rupees worth of flour is wasted annually due to substandard packing while hundreds of thousands people suffered sickness also.

Chairman Pakistan Polypropylene Woven Sack Manufacturers Association Iskandar Khan told in this regard that around five percent quantity of flour is lost in between process of packing at flour mills till delivery to houses.

The masses bear the all burden  of the loss and it also effects food security situation, the chairman added.

He suggested that the problem could be addressed through use of environment friendly Polypropylene sacks.
