Lesson should be taken from “Fall of Dhaka 1971” to void disasters in future: Syed Munawar Hasan

KARACHI: Former Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Syed Munawar Hasan said it is sorrowful moment as no lesson was taken from incident of separation of East Pakistan. He said severe consequences were witnessed by all after back-to-back military operations in Pakistan.

Syed Munawar Hasan said there was no need to seek any inquiry commission’s report over military operation in East Pakistan. He urged that the Pakistani leadership should analyse Dhaka Fall incident before making strategies to void major incidents in future.

He expressed his thoughts while concluding a seminar entitled “Dhaka Fall and Requirements of Pakistan’s security” organised at JI Karachi headquarters Idara Noor-e-Haq on Thursday.

The seminar was also addressed by JI Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, JI Naib Ameer Dr. Osama Razi, renowned columnist Shahnawaz Farooqi, former president of Karachi Union of Journalists (KUJ) Khursheed Tanveer, Professor Dr. Tahir Masood and others.

While addressing the seminar, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that December 16 was blackest day of the national history. Pakistan broken into two pieces after 24 years of independence which raised many questions, he added. Hafiz Naeem said that the national incident needed to be analysed to void such disasters in future.

The JI Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman thanked the participants and guests of the seminar to highlight national incident of Fall of Dhaka 1971.

Prof. Dr. Tahir Masood slammed silence of international community and local leadership over atrocities in Bangladesh against personalities who sacrificed everything for security of Pakistan in 1971.

Shahnawaz Farooqi said that Pakistan was emerged on the map with power of ideology but treason was made with its ideology which was essential for unification of Pakistan.
