KE comes up with explanation about Karachi blackout

KARACHI: Karachi’s electric supply company K-Electric announced on Monday that the prolonged power breakdown in many areas of Karachi.

In the recent statement, KE maintianed that the outage occurred due to tripping at the Bin Qasim transmission line due to humidity level reaching 95% adding that the disruption caused tripping of all the generation units of Bin Qasim power station 1 and 2.

KE claimed that the power supply is restored in most of the areas of the city facing breakdown while other areas will soon be energised as the power generation from both the plants has been normalised.

Several areas of Karachi remained without electricity on Sunday night including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Clifton, Gulsitan-e-Johar, FB Area, Sohrab Goth, Ancholi, New Karachi, North Nazimabad and Liaqatabad.
