Karachi zoo’s lonely elephant Madhubala is set to move to her new home as soon as next month, the administration confirmed Thursday.

The preparations to move the elephant has been finalised by the administration, who will shift the animal to the Safari Park.

Four Paws has set up a sanctuary for the elephant in the Safari Park which will become her new home.

The zoo administration has already placed a container inside Madhubala’s enclosure in order to train her. Madhubala enters and exits the container three to four times a day, they said.

KMC officials said that the sanctuary of Madhubala in the Safari Park is being developed with the support of Four Paws where she will be shifted in the next month.

The sanctuary already houses Malaika and Sonia in the Safari Park.

It should be noted that after the death of Noor Jahan elephant in Karachi Zoo in April last year, Madhubala was left alone, after which Four Paws experts and KMC management decided to transfer Madhu Bala to Safari Park.
