KARACHI: Superintendent of Police (SP) Hyderabad jail Aijaz Hyder was shot dead while his wife criticially injured in Pehalwan Goth area of Karachi in Gulistan-e-Jauhar as unidentified gunmen opened fire on a government vehicle, police said.
According to the police, assailants targeted a vehicle bearing government number GS- 8712 plate on Friday (today) late in morning killing the SP Hyderabad while his wife sustained serious injuries in the attack.
The deceased and injured were shifted to the Dar-Us-Sehat hospital.
Provincial minister for Prisons Manzoor Wasan said that the SP was just two days ago posted to Hyderabad jail. The minister also condemned the killing of the SP.
