Karachi: Sindh apex committee to meet on weekly basis

KARACHI: An apex committee’s special meeting in chair of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Raheel Sharif agreed that the apex committee  will be held on weekly basis adding that it was also decided that  the ongoing operation against terrorist will be speed-up as the meeting concluded in Corps Headquarter in Karachi .

The meeting has been called after the horrific terrorist attack on Ismaili community bus which killed 46 people including 16 women to discuss law and order situation of the province after deadly Safora massacre in the metropolis.

The meeting also decided that all intelligence agencies would work together to thwart terrorist activities and checking would be made strict at entry and exit areas of the city as  well as boost up police patrolling in remote areas of the city.

The apex committee also reviewed development made so for to apprehend culprits involved in Safora massacre. It was agreed in principal that the operation will be forwarded neglecting all political, sectarian, ethnic barriers.

The Army Chief has expressed his apprehension over the barbaric massacre. Provincial Chief Minister, Governor, IG, Chief Secretary, DG Rangers are attending the meeting. Besides government official top army brass including DG Military Operations, DG Military Intelligence, DG ISI and Corps Commander Karachi attended the meeting as well.

A decision to establish more security check-posts at the entrances of major cities was taken while measures to beef-up security will also be made.
