Karachi should not be divided on ethnic basis: Imran Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said that Karachi should not be divided on basis of ethnic and provincial lines. He asked authorities to establish peace and removal of hatred elements on prior basis in Karachi.

While addressing a joint rally organised by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and PTI in Karachi in connection with upcoming local government (LG) election, Imran Khan thanked Karachiites over standing up against hatred and anti-democratic powers. He said that all casts residing in the metropolis will have to be united against the mafia and criminal elements.

PTI chief said that terrorism will be eliminated if Karachi police brought out of political influences. He added that PTI will make reforms in police department which ended up need of Rangers in the city. He vowed to eradicate land grabbing, China-cutting and water mafia after winning the election.

He strongly criticised the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) by saying that election commissions across the globe did not stop candidates to visit their constituencies. He questioned ECP that whether Imran Khan has right to promote their moto or not? PTI chief complained that candidates of ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) visited their constituencies and hefty financial packages were also announced by the government but no strict action was taken by ECP.

The rally is being participated by thousands of JI and PTI activists in the presence of local and provincial leaders of both political parties which made coalition for the LG polls coming this December.

JI and PTI chiefs landed in the metropolis to pay special visit to Karachi in connection with upcoming LG election to be held on December 5, 2015. A joint rally is organised by both political parties which are already in coalition partnership in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government. The top political leaders of JI and PTI will deliver their addresses on different parts of the Karachi including Shahrah Faisal, Millenium Mall, Hassan Square, Patel Para and Mazar-e-Quaid.
