Karachi incident: ISI, Rangers officials to be removed, says ISPR

ISLAMABAD: The Court of Inquiry constituted on the orders of COAS Gen Bajwa into the Karachi incident has completed, recommending removal of Rangers and ISI officials involved in the incident.

An ISPR statement on Tuesday said that the inquiry ordered by the COAS last month into the Karachi incident had completed. The findings of the probe recommended to remove the Rangers and ISI officers found involved in the incidents taken place on Oct 18 and 19.

The statement added that it had been decided to remove the said officers from their current assignments for further departmental proceedings and disposal at the General Headquarters.

Last month, taking notice of the Karachi incident, Chief of Army Staff Gen Qamar Bajwa has ordered inquiry into the matter.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, the Army Chief had directed the Corps Commander Karachi to conduct an inquiry into the matter.

Earlier addressing a presser, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had demanded of the COAS to hold an inquiry into alleged siege of the house of Inspector General of Sindh Police.
