KARACHI: Various banks have started deducting charges on obtaining receipts from the auto teller machines (ATM) in Karachi.
Sources said that various banks were charging upto Rs2.25 for issuing the receipts from the ATMs in the city.
A spokesman for the State Bank of Pakistan said that the central bank had not issued any directives for imposing charges on obtaining receipts.
He added that the banks are free to collect charges against their services from the consumers. Whatever charges are imposed by banks are published in the Schedule of Charges, he further said.
