Jihad only way to liberate Kashmir: JI

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi on Sunday took out a rally to observe Kashmir Day and demanded of the government to play its due role for liberation of Kashmir, instead of taking totally opposite course.

A large number of JI activists, besides citizens from all walks of life participated in the rally. The participants were carrying placards and banners, inscribed with the slogans, expressing solidarity to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The rally was taken out from Jail Chowrangi to Mazar e Quaid.

Addressing the rally, JI deputy chief Asadullah Bhutto Advocate termed Kashmir as incomplete agenda of 1947 partition. He said that it was the basic principle and formula of the partition of subcontinent that Muslims majority areas of the region would be a part of Pakistan.

He added that despite passage of seven decades of genocide and oppression, Kashmir is still a region of Muslims majority. India has no right over Kashmir, on the other hand, the region of Kashmir and Pakistan are naturally associated with each other. Citing the water resources, which flow from Kashmir to Pakistan, he termed Kashmir as lifeline for the survival of Pakistan.

The JI deputy chief strictly criticized the government for its move to put Jamat ud Dawa chief Engr. Hafiz Saeed under house arrest. He was of the view that the decision signaled a very wrong message that the government would put all those who speak for Kashmir behind bars.

He also shed light on the services of former JI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed for the movement of Kashmir and particularly the Kashmir Day. Hussain had announced to observe February 5th as Kashmir Day some 28 years ago, he said and added that since then the day is observed for Kashmir and later the day is started to be marked on state level.

JI Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, in his address made it clear that Jihad is the only way forward to liberate occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He also lambasted those who termed the holy Jihad of Kashmir as a private affair.

He demanded of the government to play its due role in Jihad for liberation of Kashmir. He was of the view that diplomatic efforts for the freedom of Kashmir are essential but would be prove useless without Kashmir.

He paid rich tribute to martyred leader of “Hizb -ul-Mujahideen” Burhan Muzaffar Wani. He said that martyrdom of the young leader provide Kashmir movement with a new life.

The JI leader also criticized the rulers for showing cold shoulders to the movement of freedom of Kashmir from Indian oppression. He said that instead of pressing those who work for Kashmir’s liberation, the government should take solid steps for the completion of Pakistan’s independence. He strictly criticized the government for its eagerness to allow Indian movies in Pakistan.

He said that the state of Pakistan, as well as the army, should discharge their responsibilities in this regard.

Engr. Naeem also lambasted the global community for its dual standards when it comes to the freedom of Kashmir. He said that the so-called super powers take action even when rights of animals are violated but kept mum over the genocide of Muslims across the world.

He said that international powers are unable to even get their own resolutions implemented. He went on to say that Kashmir would be liberated through Jihad only and the government should come forward on forefront.

JI leaders Dr. Osama Razi, Muhammad Islam, Muhammad Sagir, Younous Sohan Advocate also addressed the rally.
