JI writes letter to ECP over irregularities in NA-246 by-election

KARACHI: The Jamaat Islami (JI) on Thursday sent  letter to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) complaining of irregularities during the by-election at Karachi’s NA-246.

The JI has registered complained through the letter that irregularities were taking place at polling stations since the morning.

The letter reads that polling began at 11:00AM at polling station numbers 11, 12, 13 and 14, while it was supposed to start at 8:00AM. It further added that the seal of ballot boxes had been broken at polling station number 99.

The letter alleged that polling staff was appointed on the wishes of the MQM who were responsible for intentional delays in voting.
