‘JI to make Pakistan strong and prosperous’

LAHORE: Acting Ameer of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Liaquat Baloch, has said that if the masses voted the JIP to power, it would build the country into a strong and prosperous Pakistan. He was addressing the Foundation Day functions of the JI at Hyderabad. Sindh JI chief Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui, Abdul Waheed Qureshi and other party leaders also addressed.

Liaquat Baloch said that the general public had high opinion of JI leaders and workers and the JI assembly members and the JI Ministers in Khyber P.

The Acting JI chief stressed upon the government to carry the NAP against terrorism and the operation in Karachi to their logical end. He also called for framing a national Kashmir policy through national consensus.

Liaquat Baloch said that the US and India had a hand behind the current tension on the Pak- Afghan border. He said that the Afghan government and the Taliban should understand the trap laid out by the enemy and added that leadership of Pakistan, Afghanistan and the Taliban should sit together to sort out the differences.

He said that the JI was not averse to talks with India on  Kashmir but the pre-conditions laid down by New Delhi were not acceptable.

Referring to the election system, he said that the entire electoral system had flaws and mere resignations of the Election Commission would not serve any purpose.

JI deputy chief, Hafiz Muhammad Idrees, addressing the Foundation Day function at Mansoora, said that the JI had been set up purely on the basis of the Quran and the Sunnah, and from the very beginning, it had been working for the Islamic system of life and the unity of the Ummah.

He said  the root cause of all evils in the country was deviation from Islamic teachings , and added that all political, social and economic problems of the country  including corruption, lawlessness, crime, and unemployment could be solved with the enforcement of the Islamic system based on justice and equity. JI Lahore chief Mian Maqsood Ahmed, also spoke on the occasion.

Meanwhile, Central Information Secretary of the Jamaat e Islami, Ameer ul Azeem, has said that the MQM was ready to withdraw its resignations.

Addressing JI Foundation Day function at Sheikhupura, he said the MQM was alleging that the operation in Karachi was directed against it . However, he said that it was time that crime and politics were separated  from each other.
