JI deplores absence of PM, ministers from joint session

LAHORE: Secretary General, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch, has said that the absence of the Prime Minister and most of the federal ministers as also the PTI’s boycott from the joint session of the parliament convened to discuss the brutalities of the Indian occupation forces in Held Kashmir showed a non-serious attitude.

Addressing different gatherings here Sunday, he said that situation in Kashmir called for practical measures, not mere speeches and resolutions. He said that political stability in the country was the crying need of the hour. He said that the Prime Minister should also go ahead for legislation to end confrontation on the political front and constitute a Judicial Commission by accepting the joint ToRs agreed by the government and the opposition.

Liaqat Baloch condemned the rising prices of basic goods and unannounced load shedding. He also termed the non-functioning of the local bodies as government’s failure and said the problems of the at local level required immediate solution.

Addressing conferences of the martyrdom of Imam Husain, at different places, the JI central leader said that the great Imam had set a noble example of bravery by sacrificing his life and his kith and kin in order to expose the forces of tyranny. He said the message of Karbala was to stand against the forces of evil and colonialism with the conviction that the truth would always triumph.
