ISLAMABAD: The local court of Islamabad accepted the bail application of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday.

The hearing on the post-arrest bail application filed by Fawad Chaudhry in the case related to spreading hatred against the Election Commission was held in the session court of Islamabad.

During the hearing, the investigating officer presented the record of the case in the court, while his lawyer Babar Awan appeared in the court on behalf of Fawad Chaudhry. Lawyer Saad Hassan appeared on behalf of the Election Commission.
During the hearing, Judge Faizan Haider Gilani, talking to Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyer, Babar Awan, said, “Congratulations, the record of the case has arrived.”

Babar Awan said in his arguments that Secretary Election Commission Umar Hameed is the plaintiff in the case, he is a retired bureaucrat, the Secretary of Election Commission is not the state itself. My question is, is the Election Commission the government? The Election Commission is not the state, telling someone that I will take action against you does not mean threatening.

He said that the section of sedition is nothing individually, the section of sedition has been given a political color. They could have also imposed the section of murder in the case, if the case is proved, the punishment of 10 to 15 years can be imposed on these sections. Yes, these provisions are punishable by a minimum of 3 years.
