Iran bans flights from Pakistan

TEHRAN: Iran has banned flights from Pakistan and India in the wake of surge in coronavirus cases in both the countries.

Iran’s ministry of health has taken the decision to ban passenger flights from the two south Asian countries.

There are no routine flights between Iran and India as they are occasionally operated. However, the connecting flights have also been banned between the two countries.

Earlier on Saturday, Pakistan had extended the coronavirus related restrictions on the incoming international flights and passengers till April 30.

The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) had decided to maintain travel ban on the countries included in Category C. India among 23 countries are included in the category C.

Passengers coming from Category B countries are required to have coronavirus tests 72 hours before departure. Australia, China and Saudi Arabia among 20 countries are included in Category A,

The passengers coming from Category A countries are exempted from coronavirus tests.
