Industrial Zones to be established along with Pak-China Economic Corridor: Minister

ISLAMABAD: A joint Pak-China working group would soon be established to decide and identify industrial zones along the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, Ahsan Iqbal said.

Briefing reporter regarding the corridor project in Islamabad, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said that  all the provinces will be consulted on the subject to ensure maximum public benefit.

The Minister said four joint working Groups under Pak-China Joint Cooperation Committee have already been established and they have decided targeted areas in planning, energy, transport and development of Gwadar.

Ahsan Iqbal said links from Gwadar to Peshawar would be ensured through western, central and eastern alignments under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He said the western link would be completed first by next year.

He said CPEC is not just the name of a road or a route rather it is a portfolio of projects having complete framework.
