Indian police arrest Shabbir Shah in Srinagar

ISLAMABAD,: Indian police arrested the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (G) Secretary General and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic reedom Party (DFP), Shabbir Ahmed Shah, from his residence in Srinagar, on Thursday .
According to Kashmir Media Service, the DFP spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that the police raided the residence of Shabbir Ahmed Shah, took him into custody and shifted him to some unknown destination.
The move is aimed at stopping the APHC (G) General Secretary from leading demonstrations after Friday prayers, tomorrow, against the harassment of Kashmiri students in different Indian states.
Shabbir Ahmed Shah along with other leaders of APHC (G) while addressing a press conference in Srinagar on Monday had called for sit-in protests across the occupied territory on Friday and complete shutdown on Saturday against the harassment of the Kashmiri students.
