India gets first Rafale fighter jet from France

MERIGNAC, France: India on Tuesday received first of its 36 Rafale fighter jets being purchased from France under a multi-billion dollar deal.

In this connection, a ceremony was held in France’s Merignac city which was attended by Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and his French counterpart Florence Parly.

The controversial $8.78 billion deal was signed in 2016.
