In a first, Pakistani neurologist Dr Wasay receives Kenneth West Award

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Wasay, a Pakistani renowned neurologist and chief executive officer of Daily Jasarat, has been awarded the 2024 Kenneth West Award by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) for excellence in the field of neurology.

Dr. Wasay became the first Pakistani neurologist to receive the Kenneth West Award, a historic achievement that shows his unwavering commitment, dedication and excellence in the field of neurology.

It should be noted that earlier Prof. Dr. Muhammad Wasay was elected as a trustee of the World Federation of Neurology, thus he is the first Pakistani neurologist to hold a position on the Executive Committee of the World Federation of Neurology.

Currently, Prof Muhammad Wasay, an alumnus of Dow Medical College, is serving as a professor of neurology at Aga Khan University, Karachi. He is also a distinguished scholar of the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The renowned neurologist has published over 136 scientific papers in peer-reviewed medical journals and has been cited over 1,400 times in international journals. Dr Wasay was also a member of the PM Task Force on Science and Technology in 2019.
