Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that she is parting ways with the PTI over the party’s “violent and terrorist activities”.

“I believe that the martyrs … their love and the country’s respect are a part of our faith. Those who disrespected martyrs attacked Pakistan’s foundation and ideology.

“Imran Khan and Pakistan can’t function together,” she added.

Firdous Ashiq Awan has claimed that she was on self-exile from the PTI over the last year over differences in her and Imran Khan’s narratives.

In a press conference at the Islamabad Press Club, she said: “Imran Khan’s agenda is like poison for Pakistan and this agenda … I am a victim of this agenda too … he becomes an enemy to his friends first.”

Awan alleged that the PTI chief used people like “tissue papers” and then discarded them when “his work is done”.

“This is the reason why PTI has reached a dead end today.”

Firdous Ashiq Awan, who has parted ways with the PTI, says her political journey will continue and vows to keep working for the nation.

“My journey with PTI comes to an end today … God willing, our political journey will continue because the reason for our politics is the well-being of the people of our constituency.”
