Imran Farooq murder case: Rangers get remand of three accused

ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court on Monday has sent three suspects in Imran Farooq murder case on seven days remand under Rangers custody.

The three arrested suspects Moazam Ali, Mohsin Ali and Khalid Shamim in Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader’s assassination case were presented before Duty Magistrate Syed Haider Shah’s court under tight security.

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain was booked in MQM leader Imran Farooq murder case on Saturday while Muhammad Anwar and Iftikhar Hussain are also nominated in the case as well.

According to details, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a case against MQM chief and senior leaders in Imran Farooq murder case. The case is booked under murder and anti-terrorism sections.

Following the lodging of the case, Pakistan has sought access to the accused and a formal request has been made to the British government in this regard.

Pakistan maintains in the request that the investigation material and access to the accused be provided to Pakistani investigators. The officials have also asked for permission to examine Farooq’s widow’s testimony as well.
