Hong Kong stocks open lower after rally

HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks turned negative in the first few minutes of trade Tuesday as investors took a breather after a four-day rally.

The Hang Seng Index slipped 0.32 percent, or 74.81 points, to 23,636.17.

And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was flat, edging down 0.70 points to 3,216.14 but the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, barely moved, ticking up 0.03 points to 1,964.78.
