KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has termed increase in petroleum (POL) prices by the federal government a tyrannous and brutal act with the people of Karachi.
In a statement, JI Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has strongly condemned the recent increase in POL prices and said that the increase would resulting in price hike of essential food items and transport fares before the Holy month of Ramadan.
He said that the federal government rather providing relief to the suppressed and down trodden people, playing its role in multiplying their problems and miseries.
Hafiz Naeem demanded to the federal government to withdraw the recent increase in POL prices immediately and also asked the federal finance minister to present his justification before the public over increase in petroleum prices in international market.
He further said that the federal government on one hand has increased the POL prices while on the other hand; it has planned to increase Rs100 to Rs5000 in gas bills for residential consumers from the month of July-2015.
