Grenade attack on Peshawar market leaves over a dozen injured

PESHAWAR: Unidentified assailants hurled a hand grenade at a police van in Peshawar’s Shabqadar market and injured over dozen on Friday morning.

The armed motorcyclists stormed into the market and lobbed a hand grenade near a police van at Bacha Khan Chowk, police officials said.

He added that the van driver was among those injured.

The injured were shifted to Shabqadar Hospital for treatment following the attack. A few of the injured were immediately discharged after receiving treatment.

Police cordoned off the area following the incident and a search operation to apprehend the assailants.
