PTI brings no-confidence motion against its own Punjab deputy speaker

LAHORE: Former president and PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that the government had decided to move no-trust motions in the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assemblies. Earlier, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had announced to quit what he called the corrupt system and leave all the assemblies.

The PTI, however, has not announced a date for the dissolution of assemblies in Punjab and KP as yet. In an interview with Aaj TV, Asif Zardari ruled out snap polls and said that it won’t suit us or democracy.

He added that it’s too immature and too early to say anything about the general elections. Zardari said that he doesn’t think there is a chance of the establishment forcing early general elections. Meanwhile, the parties involved in the government coalition are active on the possibility of dissolution of provincial assemblies by Tehreek-e-Insaf, on the other hand, Asif Zardari will contact the disgruntled PTI members. According to the sources, Pakistan Muslim League-N and PPP have decided to wait for the outcome of the meeting between Imran Khan and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi before taking any action to prevent the possible dissolution of the Punjab Assembly. Earlier, both the major parties had to take steps to bring a no-confidence motion against the Punjab Chief Minister and ask the Chief Minister to take a vote of confidence.

According to the party sources, PML-N has again contacted PPP on the latest situation and PML-N has assigned the task to party leaders and Asif Ali Zardari to prevent possible dissolution of Punjab Assembly. After the new strategy, Asif Zardari and PML-N leaders will contact the disgruntled members of PTI regarding tabling motion of no confidence.
