ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to issue sukuk bonds and take loans by mortgaging the government assets.
According to sources, the summary of mortgaging government assets for large-scale borrowing through the issuance of sukuk bonds was finally approved by the federal cabinet.
According to the summary, Sukuk bonds will be issued, loans will be taken and in return Islamabad, Lahore and Multan airports, M3 and Islamabad Chakwal Motorways will be mortgaged.
The sources said that a loan would be available at a lower interest rate by mortgaging government assets as compared to options.
