LAHORE: Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Shahbaz Sharif on Friday said that law enforcers would ensure fool-proof security to local and foreign investors.

‘Stern action will be taken against any official who demands commission from the investors in Punjab. He said that the federal and all provincial governments are working for eradication of terrorism in cooperation with the Pakistan Army and nation’s support,’ the CM said while addressing a two-day investment conference in Lahore.

He said that the Punjab government was utilizing all resources possible to counter insurgencies.

Shahbaz said that no country could attract foreign investors if there was no peace. Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif had resolved to promote investment in the country despite all issues along the way.

While addressing the conference, State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Governor Ashraf Wathra welcomed increase in foreign exchange reserves that have hit above US$20 billion.

More than 250 delegates from at least 25 different countries including Turkey and China are participating in the two-day seminar.
