The government has said that the PTI had issued a statement through Sher Afzal Marwat against Saudi Arabia.

A spokesperson for the government on legal matters said that the PTI has distanced itself from Sher Afzal Marwat’s statement after a nefarious attempt to involve Saudi Arabia in an alleged regime change.

Barrister Aqeel Malik said that the party had issued the controversial statement through Sher Afzal Marwat.

In a statement, Malik said that Sher Afzal Marwat issued the controversial statement at a time when the Saudi delegation was on a Pakistan visit.

The spokesperson said that the PTI leader’s statement is a heinous conspiracy to block Saudi investment.

It should be noted that on a local TV show recently, Sher Afzal Marwat said that Saudi Arabia was also involved in the regime change operation.

He alleged that all the investments coming to Pakistan are part of this plan.

Earlier, a PTI spokesman had said, in a statement, that Sher Afzal Marwat’s views regarding the role of Saudi Arabia in the regime change operation are contrary to the facts and the party expresses complete indifference to this statement.

The spokesman further said the PTI and its founder Imran Khan regard Saudi Arabia with great respect and dignity.

He said that Sher Afzal Marwat’s stand is his personal opinion which is not supported by PTI leadership and workers.
