Govt played disappointing role on Kashmir issue: Sirajul Haq

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Ameer Senator Sirajul Haq on Saturday said that the government has played a disappointing role on the Kashmir issue.

He added that PM Imran Khan had said that they will protest every Friday but practically did nothing.

He said this while addressing a press conference at the Idara Noor-e-Haq Karachi. Asadullah Bhutto, Liaquat Baloch, JI Sindh Ameer Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, Dr Osama Razi, Raja Arif Sultan, Abdul Wahid Sheikh, Engineer Abdul Aziz, member Sindh Assembly Syed Abdul Rasheed, Information Secretary Zahid Askari and others were also present on the occasion.

After the current government came into power, the state of Kashmir had came to an end as on August 5, the Indian government annexed the occupied Kashmir. For the last 12 months, the Indian government has been trying to suppress the voice of independence. All the political parties are in jails and Jamaat-e-Islami leadership is also in jail.

He said that the Pakistani government had played a disappointing role on the issue of Kashmir. Imran Khan had said that they will protest every Friday but practically did nothing.

The JI chief said that there is a need to formulate the National Action Plan for independence of Kashmir.

He added that to ensure the struggle for independence of Kashmir a consultative meeting would be convened on August 4.

He announced that a Black Day would be marked on Aug 4 in Azad Kashmir and on Aug 5 in Pakistan.
