Glad to hear good news about Yasir Shah: Waqar

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket team coach Waqar Younis on Sunday that he was glad to hear a good news about leg-spinner Yasir Shah.

He also appreciated the role of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for effectively pursuing and fighting the case of Yasir Shah.

“Glad to hear good news about Yasir Shah , well done team PCB”, he said in  a statement.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday banned Pakistani leg-spinner Yasir Shah from playing all types of cricket for a tenure of three months, accepting cricketer’s stance in anti-doping code violation case.

Following the announcement, Yasir Shah, who was banned from playing cricket on December 27, 2015; will be able to play cricket from March 28 this year, a private news channel reported on Sunday.

The spinner told an ICC panel that he had taken his wife’s medicine mistakenly which led to his positive dope test on November 15 last year.

Yasir Shah was the world’s second quickest bowler to reach 50 wickets mark in Test cricket, and afterwards he was the fastest to cross 75 wickets landmark in cricket history.
