Top Kashmiri leaders praise statement of General Raheel Sharif

SRINAGAR-ISLAMABAD: Top Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders have praised statement of Pakistani Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif reiterated open support to ‘Kashmir Cause’ suffering Indian oppression for decades.

Kashmiri octogenarian leader Geelani while being interviewed via telephone by a Pakistani news channel said that General Raheel’s stance regarding Kashmir is completely based on facts and recent policies have praised Kashmiri nation.

He said that India is continuously refuting facts while Pakistan must stand firm on his stance. The Kashmiri leader prayed for stability of Pakistan and its successful campaign to get rid of terrorism.

Meanwhile, another Hurriyat leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also praised strong stand of General Raheel Sharif over Kashmir dispute.

While talking to a Pakistani news channel, he said that COAS statement boosted moral of Kashmiris and a strong message given to India from Pakistan.

He added that Pakistan wants peaceful solution of Kashmir dispute which is needed to be resolved at earliest. Mirwaiz clarified that Indian government cannot crush voice of Kashmiris.

Pakistan Army Chief Genral Raheel Sharif on Wednesday had said that the Kashmir issue is an unfinished agenda of partition.

Speaking at National Defence University, Raheel Sharif said that all hopes for establishing peace will meet disappointment  until and unless Kashmir issue is resolved.

He clarified that Pakistan wants the solution of Kashmir issue according to the United Nations  (UN) resolutions over the issue.

“Pakistan’s stance over the issue is clear as none can detach Kashmir from Pakistan,” said Sharif.

The Chief of Army Staff  warned Pakistan’s enemies by declaring that the country’s valiant armed forces will not allow any country to initiate a proxy war against Pakistan.

The COAS claimed that Pakistan’s enemy country is trying to destabilise Pakistan by promoting terrorism forgetting that the Pakistan Army is capable of dealiing with all such conspiracies.

Talking about Operation Zarb-e-Azb, Sharif claimed that the success achived during the operation against terrorists in tribal areas paved way for the same kind of operation in urban centres of Pakistan.

The COAS maintained that the operation increased harmony between political and military leadership.
