He vowed to transform Karachi into Istanbul and to transfer power of taking decisions to the people. He also claimed to resolve the shortage of potable water in city within a couple of years, after the came into power.

The JI leader was of the view that free and fair LG elections are essential for bringing durable peace and sustainable development in the city.

He was of the view that the Rangers high ups are sincere for ensuring a peaceful LG elections in the city.

Further talking about the issues in the mega city, he said that Karachi has become a hub of all problems where public health and education sectors have totally been collapsed. The city is filled with ghost schools and teachers. Parks and welfare plots have been encroached. He held Muttahida Qaumi Movement responsible for all these issues, as they were enjoying rulership of the city for a long time.

He hoped that all the issues would be resolved within a short span of time, if honest leadership is elected in the forthcoming LG elections.

The Ji leader also stressed the need to bring back the powers of the local government institutions, which were already usurped by the provincial and federal governments.

Engr. Naeem demanded of the government to include Karachi into the CPEC route. He was of the view that the city is duly termed as economic nerve of the country and posses a significant position as it generates more than 70 percent revenue of the city, besides handling 90 percent export of the country.

To a question, he said that the Election Commission of Pakistan is not working properly and it would be tantamount to back stabling karachiites, if army and Rangers personnel are not deployed in and outside the polling booths, he concluded.
